Huntsville, AL The Technology 2009 conference in Miami Beach provided industry and other visitors a chance to learn more about the Space Product Development Program, its Commerical Space Centers, and Industry Partners. As a result, at least five Commercial Space Centers have contacts with potential new industry partners, and a variety of visitors from government, industry, and academia have learned more about space commercialization.

Technology 2009 is the premier showcase for Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) and Technology Transfer efforts by NASA and other governmental agencies. While Space Product Development is the flip side of the technology transfer program, the show provided a fantastic opportunity to reach new audiences with the innovative SPD message. With a location just inside the main entrance, the SPD display was seen by everyone entering the exhibit hall.

In addition to the SPD materials, the BioServe Commercial Space Center (Colorado and Kansas) provided display materials, people, and handouts for the show. BioServe Industry Partners Encynova and PentaPure also took part, drawing in a large number of people to examine their innovative hardware and demonstrations.

The Fox News Network was a visitor to the display, interviewing participants as part of a news special planned for New Year's Day. Stay tuned for more details on that special as they become available.
